The City of San Antonio has announced their holiday schedule of what is open and what is closed during the Thanksgiving holiday.
City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23, 2012. City services will operate as follows:
- There will be no trash collection on Thursday, Nov. 22. Residences that are normally serviced on Thursday will be serviced on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
- All libraries will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and remain closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23, returning to regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 24.
- Downtown visitors will enjoy an on-street parking meter holiday on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23.
- La Villita, Market Square, and Spanish Governor’s Palace will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, returning to regular hours on Friday, Nov. 23.
- Café College will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23. It resumes regular hours on Saturday, Nov. 24.
- Municipal Court, 401 S. Frio, will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23.
- Animal Care Services lobby, kennel and adoption center will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23.
- All Community Link Service Centers will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23.
- Bitters Brush Recycling Center, 1800 E. Bitters Rd., and Nelson Gardens Brush Recycling Center, 8963 Nelson Rd., will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23.
Animal care officers, police, EMS, and fire personnel will be on duty.
