Adele's James Bond Theme Song Shoots To No. 1 On iTunes

Adelereleased her new James Bond single, "Skyfall," on Friday and it has already shot up to No. 1 on iTunes. It surfaced on the 50th anniversary of the release of the first James Bond film, "Dr. No." "Skyfall also marks Adele's first new release since her 2011 Grammy-winning album, "21."

She co-wrote track with Paul Epworth and recorded it at London's Abbey Road Studios in London with a 77-piece orchestra. But the British songstress admits she was hesitant to do the theme song for the upcoming "Skyfall" film, explaining in a statement via BBC News, "There's a lot of instant spotlight and pressure when it comes to a Bond song. But I fell in love with the script and Paul (Epworth) had some great ideas for the track and it ended up being a bit of a no brainer to do it in the end."

She added, "It was also a lot of fun writing to a brief, something I've never done which made it exciting. When we recorded the strings, it was one of the proudest moments of my life."
